Mary was born to Elza and Flora (Bishop) Jacobs in Carroll County, KY on October 10, 1924. She was one of eight children, including the late J.R. Jacobs of Liberty, IN.
She came to Liberty in 1943 where she married Lloyd Vernon Shepler. In 1960, she became interested in the Democratic Party, becoming Union County Treasure from 1961-68. She then was employed at Indiana Boxmakers in Connersville and became an EMT in Liberty. She often told stories about being on duty during the blizzard of '78. Not liking retirement, she worked at Walmart in Richmond for several years until she moved to Anderson.
Mary enjoyed the Pacers & Colts, but especially watching her grandsons play sports.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers; sisters; husband, Lloyd Vernon Shepler in 1958; and husband, Elbert J. Lloyd in 1974. She is survived by one daughter; three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9-11 AM on Friday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory.
Private graveside services will take place in Liberty.
