Gary N. Crittenden, age 68, of Grove, Oklahoma passed away on Sunday December 20, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma after experiencing complications from a kidney transplant. Gary was born on July 18, 1952 in Noel Missouri to Dee L. and Inez L. (Reece) Crittenden.

Gary graduated from Grove High School with the Class of 1970. He married Cherri Drake in Southwest City, Missouri in 1972. They have been lifelong residents of the area. Gary worked for Delaware County for 20 years before retiring 6 years ago.

He was an accomplished bluegrass musician, and his favorite instrument was the banjo. He was a member of the locally famous 'Peters Prairie Boys' for many years. He was a working cowboy and horseman and enjoyed team roping when younger. Gary was a kind man who saw the good in everyone. Anyone who met him became his friend. He is described as "the sweetest, most patient person ever, making him easy to love". He was a dedicated father, husband and grandfather who loved his family immensely.

Gary was preceded in death by his father Dee Crittenden and daughter Nicole.

Left to cherish his memory; wife Cherri of the home in Grove, mother Inez of Grove, sons Justin, wife Jennifer, and grandchildren Paige, Reagan, Ian, Dee, Anna, and great granddaughter Reese of Kerrville, Texas and Corey, with grandchildren Pacen and Alex of Grove; daughters Lacey Fields, husband Dustin, and grandchildren Emma and Garren of Grove, and Caitlin, husband Josh Moffett, and grandchildren Hagen and Hank of Southwest City, Missouri.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 pm Wednesday, December 23 at Crosswired Cowboy Church east of Grove. Interment will be in Polson Cemetery near Southwest City. All under the direction of Nichols-Stephens Funeral & Cremation Services, Grove, Oklahoma.
