Koosharem, Utah – Our friend and neighbor, Clair L. Lipsey, age 87, passed away quietly on May 27, 2021 in Provo, Utah. Clair was born on November 10, 1933 in Annabella, Utah to Lee and Veoma Anderson Lipsey. He grew up in Koosharem where he attended elementary school there and was one of the first to be baptized in the newly built LDS ward building in Koosharem. His parents didn't know about his baptism until it was over, and he announced to them 'Well folks, I'm a Mormon!" He was married 3 times and later divorced. Clair was well known around Sevier and Wayne County. He was a hard worker and worked for many people. He loved his job at Elbow Ranch in Marysvale Utah. Clair loved the mountains and would herd sheep for numerous ranchers and was always willing to lend a hand. Clair had a love for horses. In his younger years you could see him riding his Palomino around town. Most of Clair's life he raised chickens. It was his chore to feed and water the chickens and gather the eggs. He also fed many cats and skunks. He would go out first thing in the morning, feed and water them and in the winter he always made sure the water was dumped so it would not freeze. Clair worried about his cats and wanted to make sure they were taken care of while he was gone. He had a sweet tooth, he loved all kinds of cakes, cookies, and pie. If he ever invited you into his home he loved showing off the cedar chest his dad had made. Clair is preceded in death by his mother Veoma Anderson Lipsey, father Leon (Lee) Lipsey, Sister Faye Peterson. Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 7 at 11:00 A.M. in the Koosharem Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Homes of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
