James K Blankenship, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, drew his last breath here on Earth on Thursday, May 27, 2021 in his home he shared with his wife.

He was born on August 17, 1963 in Fall River, MA to Jessie James Blankenship Jr and Ruby Faye (Taylor) Blankenship. His family later moved to Indianapolis, IN where he grew up as a child, enjoying many family weekend camping trips and trips to Kings Island.

He later met Tonda, the mother of his six children. After many life challenges and years later, he ended up meeting the love of his life, Doris, as she poked him on Facebook and he poked her back. James enjoyed spending time with his family and could build anything with his crafty woodworking skills. James had a way of bringing laughter wherever he went. He also enjoyed showing his money off, that somehow gave him a tickle, that he had been saving to take his wife on a special vacation. James also was a proud member of Speedway General Baptist Church were he gave his life to God.

James was welcomed into Heaven by his father, Jessie; mother, Ruby; and his grandmother, Edith, that he held close to his heart.

James will be missed by many, including his wife; six children; seven grandchildren; three siblings; and many nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

Visitation will be on Thursday, June 10, 2021 from 11:30 AM-1:30 PM at Speedway General Baptist Church, 3821 W. 34th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46222. Funeral service will follow at 1:30 PM, followed by burial in Floral Park Cemetery.
