The funeral for Clara Taylor, 89, of Athens will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Cecil Norman and Donald Terry officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery.

Mrs. Taylor died Monday, Feb. 19, 2007, at her residence.

She was a member of Truth Baptis Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Taylor; grandson, Jonathan Taylor; son-in-law, Wayne Cleveland; brother, Raymond Swanner; and sister, Irene Tyler.

She is survived by three sons, Frank Taylor and wife Louise of Weaver, Stanley Taylor ad wife Connie of Athens, and Kenneth Taylor and wife Beverly of Athens; daughters, Ruby Appleton, Earline Cleveland, Marie Dean and husband Bobby, and Brenda Holcomb, all of Athens; one brother Buford Swanner and wife Bernice; sisters, Addie B. Tyler, Lura Andrews and Delia Nave, all of Athens; 19 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Appleton, Brad Dean, Randy Vinson, Dustan Taylor, Justin Taylor, Nick Tucker, Corey Weaver and Blake Moffatt.

Honorary pallbearers will be Curtis Norman, Kevin Appleton, Ricky Watts, Tommy Wilson and Jason Haggard.

She was the daughter of Lee Swanner and Hattie Edwards Swanner.
