Jay Darrell Thrashed January 09, 1934 - June 12, 2017
J. Darrell Thrasher, 83, of Shawnee, KS passed away on June 12, 2017. Memorial services will be held on June 15, 2017 at 7:00 PM with visitation one hour prior at Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel, 32665 Lexington Ave., De Soto, KS. Private graveside at Shawnee Memory Gardens in Shawnee, KS.

J. Darrell was born January 9, 1934 in Ponca City, OK to J.C. And Goldie Thrasher. He joined the U.S. Navy as soon as he could. After he was discharged, he married Ella Whitesell on August 6, 1965. They moved to Shawnee where they raised their two sons, Gerald and Johnny. He worked for Ford for may years until retirement. He spent his free time traveling with the boys on vacation and going to their soccer games.

He is preceded in death by: parents J.C. and Goldie Thrasher; brother Willie; sister Shirley and a nephew.

Survivors include: wife Ella of the home; sons Gerald (Julie) Thrasher of Kansas City, MO and Johnny (Angela) Thrasher of Olathe, KS; grandchildren Amber, Austin, Hunter, Mallory, Lily, Zoey and great grandson Ryan; brothers Pat Thrasher, Allen Thrasher, Jackie Thrasher, Freddie Thrasher and H.B. Thrasher; sisters Ann Cowan, Joyce Bowman and Betty Capehart.
