Walter was the son of William "Bill" Andrew McDaniel and Susan Catherine McClellan McDaniel.

Walter married Dora Allena Anderson on April 25, 1895 in Blanket, Brown County, Texas. They had seven children, of which two lived to adult hood.

After the death of Dora, Walter married Ruby Mae Dew. They married October 11, 1937 in Sulphur, Murray County, Oklahoma. Ruby had two daughters that were very young when Walter and Ruby married. They took his name. but Walter never adopted them. Together Walter and Ruby had 1 child.

Walter was of the Baptist faith.

The picture of Walter and the picture of Walter and Dora was given to me by one of his great-granddaughters. The picture of Ruby was sent to me by their daughter, Betty. I do not have a picture of his headstone.

WALTER B. McDANIEL DIES IN HIS HOME

Walter Borden McDaniel, operating engineer for the Todd-Houston Shipbuilding Corp. and former Texas farmer died of a heart attack at 12:15 a.m. Monday in his home, 407 North 78th. He was 68.

Born in Robinson County, Texas and reared on a farm, Mr. McDaniel moved to Brownwood at the age of 17 and a year later married Miss Dora Elena Anderson. From there they moved to Bowie, where he engaged in farming.

Mr. McDaniel, whose first wife died in 1938, later married Miss Ruby Dew of Ada, Okla. He had been a member of the Baptist Church since 1908.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruby McDaniel; four daughters, Misses Floye, Betty Jane, Bernice and Wanda Lou McDaniel of Houston; a son J.L. McDaniel of Baytown; two sisters, Mrs. Ada Norton and Mrs. Maude Rooker, both of Ada, Okla.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Fogle-West Chapel with the Rev. Ed T. Hitt officiating. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery.

Walter and I were 1st cousins one time removed. He married my Great Aunt Dora.
