Marjorie M. Anderson, age 96 of Corning, NY passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021 in Lockport, NY.

Born on July 18, 1924 in Kane, PA, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Hannah (Olson) Thom. She graduated from Corning Northside High School and rightfully earned the title class clown and best bluffer. She was known to skip school occasionally and passed a book "The Art of Skipping School" to her fellow classmate. Marjorie married George Anderson, he preceded her in death on December 26, 1979.

During World War II, she was a genuine Rosie the Riveter, having worked at Remington Rand in Elmira on the production of the Norden Bombsite which hastened Allied Victory. Later in life she was a longtime factory worker at General Motors in Lockport, NY, retiring after 25 years of service. Marjorie will be remembered for her love of camping, cruise vacations, casino gambling and travel. She was invariably the life of the party, always cracking a joke and having a laugh. Her long life is attributed to her positive mental attitude.

Marjorie is survived by her children: Debbie Retterer of FL, George Anderson of Sanborn, NY, Cheryl LaFreniere of N. Tonowanda, NY, Cindy (Ed) Schmidt, Cookville, TN, Pam Sowersby, Sandy Wood and Darlene Wood; grandchildren: Mike, Joanna, Rachael, Joey, Kelly, Matt, Ryan and Nicole and several other grandchildren and great grandchildren; and nephew Brian Thom.

In addition to her parents and husband George, Marjorie was predeceased by her son, Ron Wood; grandchildren: Doug and Curtis; and siblings: Bud, Jim, Howdy and Alvin.
