On October 2nd, 1884, in Lawrence County, Ohio, Lou Dixon became the first wife of Edward Powerton Shoop. Aunt Lou Dixon Shoop died aged 18, giving birth to a son, Mitchell Melvin Shoop (1885-1941), FindAGrave Memorial ID 85736010 . On 26 September 1890, in Abderdeen, Brown County, Ohio, Ed Shoop then married Lou's younger sister, "Sallie"/Sarah Dixon, 1870-1941, FindAGrave Memorial ID 76034580. I went to Dock's Creek Cemetery a few times with my grandfather and family. We were sure that Aunt Lou Dixon Shoop's grave was a sunken spot near the road, left of her mother, Frances Jane Thacker Dixon (FindAGrave Memorial ID 76032683 ). Because I didn't see a tombstone, I have been looking for years for alternative gravesites, but haven't found any. Our best hypothesis by far is that Aunt Lou is buried in the Dock's Creek Cemetery, near her mother, and not far from her father, Hugh Bailey Dixon (FindAGrave Memorial ID 76032686). Uncle Ed Shoop (FindAGrave Memorial ID 61575778) went off to Indiana, where he died in 1952, and was buried. Because few people even remember Aunt Lou, I create this e-memorial. May God grant her rest.
