J. Gordon Boyd, age 77, of Westerville and formerly of Sparta, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 25, 2021 at Ross Heart Hospital. Born on November 21, 1943 to the late Elmer and Juanita (Elick) Boyd. Prior to retirement in 2003 he worked as a lab tech at Anheuser Busch for over 30 years. Gordon was an avid golfer garnering multiple holes-in-one. He enjoyed playing courses all over the world. He was an active Mason of Chester Lodge #238. Gordon's favorite hobby was magic. He was a self-taught magician who loved traveling all over to display his skills, and to meet new people. He is survived by his loving wife of over 30 years, Shari (Therkelson-Beaver) Boyd; son, Blair Boyd of Atlanta; daughter, Jacquie Boyd of Pickerington; stepson. Scott (Christina) Beaver of Henderson, Nevada; stepdaughters, Stephanie (Jason) Kelley of Columbus, and Stacie (Kevin) Lang of Henderson, Nevada; and five grandchildren; sister, Joyce (Michael) Ray of Marengo; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Graveside service will be held on 2pm Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Bloomfield Cemetery, Sparta. A private family visitation will be held at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home in Sunbury who is honored to serve the Boyd family.
