Byron Leo Stowers, 80, of Elwood, died Saturday May 22, 2021 at Community Hospital in Anderson.

Byron was born on January 26, 1941, in Palermo, West Virginia, son of the late Clifford and Hulda (Lovejoy) Stowers. He graduated from Hamlin High School in Hamlin West Virginia. Byron married Linda D. Hill in West Virginia on December 18, 1959. Linda preceded him in death on March 5, 2007. Byron retired from Delco-Remy in Anderson after 38 years of service. Byron loved his grandchildren and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and antique tractors. He was a member of the UAW, Frankton Masonic Lodge, and the Fairmount Baptist Church.

Byron is survived by three sons, David Stowers, Elwood, Charles Stowers, Elwood, and Gregory (Karen) Stowers, Summitville; daughter-in-law, Leann Stowers, Summitville; 10 grandchildren, Kristin (Derrek) Purtee, Lapel, Megan Stowers and Brandon Stowers, both of Elwood, Jered Stowers, Washington DC, Kaitlyn Stowers, Summitville, Christopher (Christina) Stowers, Missouri, Dustin Stowers, Jesse Stowers, Josh Stowers and Lucas Stowers, all of Summitville; three great-grandchildren, Keilan, Braxton, and Kelsey Stowers.

Byron was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Linda; son, Michael Wayne Stowers; and daugher-in-law, Alessia Stowers.

Services for Byron will be at the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana. Visitation is Thursday, June 3, 2021 from 4-7 PM. Funeral Service is Friday, June 4, 2021 at 11 AM with Pastor Nathan Lutterman officiating. Burial will be at Vinson Cemetery in Summitville.
