Natalie Ballard Bell, 94, of Hampton, VA, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 20, 2021. Natalie was born in White Sulfur Springs, West Virginia on August 23, 1926, daughter to the late Harry and Mable Ballard and predeceased by her husband John D. Bell, brothers Tom Ballard and wife Musie, Harry Ballard and wife Virginia, and Meredith Ballard and wife Margie. Left to cherish her memory are her brother Gary Ballard and wife Joyce, her sons J.D. Bell and wife Pam, Steve Bell and wife Diane, David Bell and wife Laurie, Guy Bell and wife Jackie, her daughter Deborah Smith and husband Paul, 19 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and a second great great grandchild on the way.
Natalie's true passion was for her family. She never forgot a special occasion. She always made time and called every family member on their birthdays. This always reminded us how much her family meant to her. She made an impact on all her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and they will deeply miss her.
You could always find Natalie sitting in her favorite place, the sun filled back porch of her home, listening to the birds, reading her daily devotionals, visiting with family and friends, and growing her beautiful plants. The home she built with her husband and raised her children in and still called home until her passing. Many family events were shared by all in this house. It is our family's home away from home, the place that binds us together.
Natalie worked and retired from the Fort Monroe Credit Union. She was a lifetime member of the Bethany United Methodist Church. She was a devoted member and loved her church family and volunteered at the church after her retirement.
Natalie's life will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Bethany United Methodist Church, 1509 Todd's Lane in Hampton. Arrangements are by Berceuse Funeral and Cremation traditions in Hampton.
