Curtis Donald Ivie, born in Corsicana, TX on April 12,1944 to Warren Curtis and Mary Lou Ivie-Wright. Then peacefully passed away surrounded by family and friends at 7:04 p.m. on January 10, 2017.
He is proceeded in death by his father, Warren Curtis Ivie and his dad, Homer Lee Wright. He is survived by his Loving Wife of 51 years Alice Kennedy Ivie.. his mother, Mary Lou Wright his sister, Betty Wright Roberson, his brother, Larry Wright, with several nieces, nephews and cousins...

His children: Sherrie Ivie Kilgore, Terry Ivie, and Jennifer Ivie Brogdon

His grandchildren: Jennifer Dawn, Joshua Don, Alicia Rene', Courtney Denise, Lauren Denay, and Blake Christopher

His great-grandchildren: Leroy John(Bubba), Thomas Keith, Ethan Matthew, Katelyn Rayne, and Julian Alexandre

His son in laws: Jim Kilgore and Chris Brogdon
His daughter in law: April Ivie

Don graduated from Samuel High School in Dallas, TX in the year of 1962. Shortly after he met the love of his life and later married on June 4, 1965. He served in the Vietnam War from 1962-1965. Later on Don and Alice resided in Mesquite, TX. He soon opened up his own business...A-1 Sportsman Taxidermy in downtown Mesquite. He devoted his life to his family, the church where he served as a Sunday school teacher and deacon for over 20 years, and his taxidermy business. In the last 18 months prior to his death he donated his time to Joseph's House with Pat and Kyle Hale, whom he enjoyed working with. Don was so passionate about helping others that even upon his death he decided to donate his body to Southwestern Medical, in hope of helping others and save the lives of people who are in need. Helping others was his mission in life.
