Mildred A. Dannaker Gold Roth "Millie" left her earthly life on August 7, 2007. She was a much loved person by all who were fortunate to know her. She was born in Dayton, OH on April 15, 1917 and was one of five children born to George and Elsie Mahan Dannaker. Her siblings (Thurston, Helen Smith, Elsie Strough and Velma Gockel) preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Alfred Gold, and her son, Paul D. Gold. At age 79, she married her second love of her life, Robert Roth. They had seven wonderful years together before he died. Millie recently lived at American Village for three years, where she became known as the puzzle queen. She also provided their piano entertainment at Happy Hour twice a week. It was often mentioned that she was the best social director they ever had, having led in many fun games, and holiday parties. Millie was employed for 15 years at PR Mallory Co., and for five years at Naval Avionics. She began bowling at the age of 80, she sang in the Oasis Choir for several years, tried a little golf (with only a seven iron), and was a Pink Lady at Community Hospital East for 20 years. She was a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church and Faith Presbyterian Church. Mildred is survived by her daughter, Shirley Gold Hancock Fields, and son-in-law, Robert Fields. Other survivors include her grandchildren, John Hancock, Sharon Dale, Terri Corey (Mike), Lisa Wycoff, and Paul D. Gold, Jr. (Kim), Douglas R. Fields (Julie), and Daniel A. Fields, Lori Pumphrey, Nanci Smith, and Matthew Shinbur. She is a great-grandmother of 25 children and a great-great-grandmother to three children. She is also survived by the children of Robert Roth: Jim Roth (Carolyn), Mary Owens and Kathy Falkner (Dave); eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Millie and her family have been blessed the past six months with the loving care of the hospice staff, which included Robin, Sherry, Kathy and the volunteer services of Melissa. God sent a special "angel on earth" to us Tuesday night at Community East Hospital by the name of Dottie Harvey. Heartfelt thanks to all of you. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 11th in Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary, 71st and Keystone, with visitation there from 4–8 p.m. Friday, August 10th. Entombment Washington Park East Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or to Community Home Health Services Hospice.
