"MADISONVILLE, Jan. 23. Funeral services for William Debety, 70, of the Ball Play section of the county, were held from Ball Play church this afternoon.
Mr. Debety died Thursday at the home of his son-in-law, B. Williams."

William M. "Bill" Debety/Deputy was the son of John Deputy and Fanny (Hampton) Deputy who married 4 Sep 1847 in Monroe Co., TN. Bill married Queen Easter Bivens 29 Aug 1880 then married Amanda (Akins) Miller 29 Jan 1920.

Children include Minnie (born Nov 1876), Callie (Dec 1880), King (Dec 1881), Mary (May 1884), Lucinda "Cindy" (Oct 1886), Easter (Aug 1889), Henry (Apr 1893), Frank (Apr 1896), Joseph (1900), and Blackman (1903 or 1904). There was another child that passed away before 1900. Children with Amanda Akins are Andrew (Aug 1921) and Ray (Aug 1924; Junior Ray). There was also an adopted son Clifford E. Debety (Oct 1915), son of Tom Miller and Amanda "Mandy" (Akins) Miller who married 27 Jun 1913. The Feb 1920 Census shows Clifford Miller (age 4 and 3 months) as William's step-son and the Apr 1930 Census shows Clifford Debety (age 14) as William's son.

- Per some records, Bill was born Mar 1856 and Mar 1846, but he was age 3 in the July 1860 Census. The 2 Sep 1857 - 22 Jan 1931 dates are per his death certificate. Mrs. Mandy Debety of Vonore TN was the informant. Burial at Williamsburg 23 Jan 1931.
- As known, Bill and Easter both had a previous marriage. William and Easter, who married 29 Aug 1880, formally parted ways 1 Feb 1911.
- Callie's death certificate shows her born Dec 1875, but she was age 19, born Dec 1880 per the 1900 Census (married to Brazil Williams). The certificate has her parents as William Debity and Easter Bivens.
- Minnie Debety passed away 27 June 1921, burial on 28 June. It was originally intended for her to be interred at Black Ankle Cemetery (Mt. Isabella Cemetery), but was interred at nearby Macedonia. They had estimated her as age 40 when she passed, and listed her parents as unknown. In the 12 Jun 1900 Census (Monroe Co., TN), Minnie was age 23, born Nov 1876.
- Per the 1900 Census, Frank was age 4, born Apr 1896. Frank's delayed birth certificate dated May 1956 shows Frank Debety was born 4 Mar 1891, but his brother Billy was born 18 Mar 1891. His death certificate (Barrett Frank Debity) shows born 28 Apr 1894. It also shows his mother as Minnie Skidmore instead of Easter Biven as seen in his delayed birth certificate. Frank's widow, Sallie, was the informant for his passing.
