Original burial took place at the Pioneer aka Quadra Cemetery in September, 1872. David was reburied in Ross Bay Cemetery, which saw its first burial take place in December, 1872, just three months after his young death. His gravestone was removed from Quadra and mounted at the family plot in Ross Bay. David's paternal uncles, Captain Edwin Augustus Starr and John Henry Starr, are also buried in the family plot with David.
