NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Mr. Aubrey Bradford, age 33, of Newport News, Va., passed away while on active duty on May 17, 2021, in Virginia.

Aubrey was born Feb. 20, 1988, in Boise, Idaho, to parents, Barry Rhett and Michelle Anjeanette (Waller) Bradford. He attended school in California, graduating from high school in Barstow, Calif., in 2006. Following high school, from 2006 to 2014, Aubrey worked for a construction crew in Idaho.

Aubrey joined the United States Navy on June 10, 2015, and continued to serve his country on the USS George Washington until his passing. In his free time, he enjoyed reading, playing sports, especially basketball and football, and he loved to learn.

Aubrey was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents.

Those left to celebrate his life include his father, Barry Bradford of Irwin, Calif.; mother, Michelle St. John of Culbertson, Neb.; stepfather, Ted St. John of Barstow; brother, Grant Bradford of Burley, Idaho; grandparents, Rhett (Jackie) Bradford and Charlotte (Larry) Johnson, all of Irwin; and numerous extended family members from Idaho, California and Nebraska.

Private family services with Military Honors are planned for a later date at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Neb.
