'U. Samuel Mackey Dies; Services Set Saturday'
U. Samuel Mackey, 71, 1381 Norwood NW, died at 12:15 a.m. today in Trumbull Memorial Hospital, following a year's illness. Born Sept. 19, 1900, in Coal Port, Pa., he was the son of Samuel and Etla Crain Mackey. A resident here 55 years, he was a self-employed carpenter and contractor for 50 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, and was active in the scouting program of troop 2 of the church.
Survivors include his wife Margerite Peterson Mackey, whom he married Nov. 19, 1932; a son Donald Carl of Midland, Tex.; two brothers, Bender L. of Port Richey, Fla., Ruben of Cleveland, Tenn., and five grandchildren. A brother and a sister preceded him in death. Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
