Houston Taylor Mayfield Jr. passed away with his wife at his side, Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013 in Prescott, Ariz.
Houston always lived life to the fullest. He was born and raised in Florence, Ariz. He joined the military, serving in the Navy for four years and the Army for 20 years. He was a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. After he retired a United States Army Major, he went on to receive his Bachelor Degree in Education from Arizona State University. He loved teaching and education was one of his many passions.
Houston was an amazing man who touched the lives of everyone he met. He colored outside the box with no apologies and he was loved for that. We will always have amazing memories of his love, passion, talent, artistry and, of course, his wonderful stories.
