February 17, 1937 - May 15, 2021
Nellie May Harrison, 84, of Mechanicsville, Maryland passed away May 15, 2021 in Leonardtown, Maryland.
She was born February 17, 1937 in St. Mary's County, Maryland to the late James Alfred Suite, Sr. and the late Lucy Violet Goldsborough Suite. She was raised on a farm in St. Mary's where she was one of 10 children.
Nellie and her late husband Bill Harrison resided in Mechanicsville where they raised four children together.
She worked for a short time at Royster Company in Mechanicsville, but decided staying at home with her children was the best path for her.
Like her husband Bill, Nellie was completely devoted to her family. Whenever there was a function for any of her children, grandchildren, or great grandchildren, you could bet she was in the first row.
She always kept a spotless house and had a hot dinner on the table. Nellie enjoyed cruising on the weekends in one of Bill's classic cars, listening to country and gospel music, and spending time with her family.
Nellie is predeceased by her husband, parents, and siblings; Elmer Suite, Martin Suite, Philip Suite, Jimmy Suite, Betty Lyons, Marie Robey, Cecilia Watermolen, and Elizabeth Hancock.
She is survived by her sister Pearl Scott, children, Darlene Scott (John), Cindy DeMarr (Lenny), Billy Harrison, Jr. (Cathy), and Bonnie Lancaster (Henry); grandchildren, Laura Bowen (Kyle), Dakota Finneyfrock, Matthew Lancaster, Victoria Harrison (Koda), and Danny Nasche (Kylee); great-grandchildren, Claire and Wade Bowen and many family and friends.
Nellie was the definition of "old school" and certainly had her ways. She was never afraid to speak her mind and she never gave up when things got tough. She was quite literally a great woman and will be missed by everyone that knew her.
A viewing will be held Friday May 21, 2021 from 4pm - 6pm with a prayer service starting at 6pm at Brinsfield Funeral Home in Leonardtown, Maryland. A mass will be held on Saturday May 22, 2021 at 10am at Immaculate Conception Church in Mechancisville. Graveside services will follow mass at Christ Episcopal Church in Chaptico, Maryland.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to St. Mary's Nursing Home in Leonardtown, MD.
