Simon Ridder, aged 72 years, died at his home on Second street in this city at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon, the cause of his death being asthma, after an illness which dates back for some time.
Deceased was born in Germany on March 5, 1837, and in 1869 he left the old country and came to the United States, settling first in Missouri, and a short time afterward came to Nebraska, settling near Fairbury, and had since made this his home.
He is survived by three sons, one daughter and a sister. Short funeral services will be held at the house tomorrow, after which the remains will be taken to Gladstone, where funeral services will be held in the Evangelical church. Father of Wilhelmine, Fridrich, Wilhelm, Ferdinand, Edward, Gustav, August, Henry, Herman, Karl, and Simon.
