Funeral services for Walter W.
Rose, 71, Oceana, will be conducted
at 2 p. m. Saturday in the Full
Gospel Tabernacle with the Rev.
Calvin Goodman and the Rev.
Port Daniels in charge. Burial
will be in the Marshall Cemetery
at Oceana.
Rose died Wednesday at his
home after a brief illness.
Born May 12, 1891, in Charleston,
he was a son of the late Eli
and Mary Havens Rose. He was
a retired coal miner.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs.
Sadie Rice Rose; five sons, Edward,
Winding Gulf; Doc George Rose of Glen
White; Harold of Hatcher; Howard Lee,
Harvey, ILL.,and Franklin, stationed
in Germany with the Air
Force; two daughters, Mrs. Virginia
Grubb, Sophia, and Mrs.
Garnet Aglesby, Burlington, N.C.,
31 grandchildren and 9 greatgrandchildren.
The body was to have been
taken to the residence at 3 p.m.
today by the Evans Funeral
