Lois Lorraine Lacey Richardson, age 91, died peacefully on May 7, 2021, in Monument, Colorado.

She is survived by her three daughters, Karen Stuth of Palmer Lake, Colorado; Susan Stuth of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Gretchen Stuth Durand of St. Louis, Missouri. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Richardson; her brother Ralph Lacey, and her parents Tillie and Ralph Lacey.

Lois was born on June 24, 1929 in Denver, Colorado. A life-long learner, she graduated from Baylor University in Waco, Texas with a degree in elementary education, and later pursued a degree in adult education from the University of Missouri. Early in her life she taught elementary school in Texas, and later worked for H&R Block for 30 years teaching tax preparation classes. After moving to Columbia, Missouri from Texas, Lois was the office manager at Calvary Episcopal Church, and later worked at the University of Missouri, in the adult education department and then the registrar's office - specializing in assistance to student athletes.

She was a dynamic and spirited individual who valued service to others. She was a Girl Scout troop leader, an elementary school room mother, an active congregation member of the churches she attended, and a generous friend. Lois was also a woman of many talents. An avid gardener, she was also an accomplished cook, and mastered many types of crafts including sewing and knitting. She additionally enjoyed reading and collecting things. Among her friends Lois counted her many canine companions, who brought her considerable joy. In 1981 she married her second husband, Robert Richardson. They enjoyed many happy years together, which included travel throughout the United States. Lois raised her daughters to have pride in being strong, independent women. She will be remembered for the many life lessons she bestowed upon them.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 21st, 2021 at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 W, Columbia, MO 65202 from 5:00pm – 6:30pm. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, May 22nd, 2021 at 11:00am at the funeral home followed by burial at Memorial Park Cemetery. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Lois's life.
