Chas. Bean Is Dead At Calistoga

Charles Bean, a former resident of this city, who was at one time employed as a conductor by the Petaluma & Santa Rosa Ry Co., died on Friday at his home at Calistoga following an attack of pneumonia from which he had suffered for a few days.

His widow and two children are also ill with pneumonia at the family home at that place.

Mr. Bean, a highly respected citizen, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bean of Hessel station, above Petaluma, and he was aged 36 years. He made his home here for some time prior to leaving for Calistoga where he was employed on the Napa-Vallejo railroad.

The news is received with great regret in Petaluma by his many friends.

Chas. Bean Passed Away

Charles O. Bean, a conductor on the electric road, was taken ill a couple of weeks ago with a sort of reoccurrence of the grip, followed by pneumonia, and passed away at an early hour Wednesday morning.

Mr. Bean came to Napa two years ago from Petaluma and accepted employment on the local road. He was a very quiet and unassuming man, and spent practically all his spare time at home with his family. Nevertheless he had made many friends among the townspeople who deeply regret the sad tidings. He moved to town with his family about eight months ago.

The deceased was aged about thirty years. He is survived by a wife and three small children, the youngest of which is only about a month old. Mrs. Bean and one of the children is also quite ill. — Callstogian, Jan. 23rd.
