Heart Disease caused the death Friday morning of the Rev. James C. Bell, 69 years old retired minister, in his home 818 E. Grand ave. The body was taken to the Dawson & Wikoff funeral home. Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
Mr. Bell was born May 30, 1867 in Paris. In 1896 he married Miss Anna May Hockett of Harrisburg, Neb. and the same year entered the ministry. He served two years in Nebraska, then was transferred to the St. Louis conference and later to the Northwestern Indiana conference. In 1907 he was transferred to the Illinois conference and in 1931 retired. Since that year he made his home here.
He was a member of the First Methodist church and of the Masonic lodge.
