Alice Ann Evard, 90, of Cameron died Tuesday, September 11, 2012 in a Cameron nursing center. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home. Private family services will be held at a later time. Mrs. Evard, a lifetime resident of Cameron was born to Rudolph and Annie (Orsag) Provazek. She married James Myrl Evard on December 14, 1952 and he preceded her in death in 2002. Mrs. Evard worked for Matula's Grocery and L & M Jewelry for many years. She was a lifetime member of the Buckholts Brethren Church, that her father helped to build. She was confirmed there in 1935 and remained active in the choir and the Christian Sisters organization. She was member of the Women's Auxiliary of the VFW Post 2010 and volunteered as a Pink Lady of the Hospital Auxiliary at Central Texas Hospital. She was a long-time member of the 42-Leisure Club. She was also preceded in death by her son Archie Mraz. She is survived by: Brothers Melvin Provasek of Cameron L. D. Provazek of Cameron Sister Joyce Havlik Wilkinson of Houston 2 granddaughters, 4 great grandchildren and 6 nieces and nephews.
