"Mrs. Addie J. Timmons, 48, of 11500 E. 33rd Terrace, Independence, diedTuesday at a nursing home at 17451 E. Medical Center Parkway, Independence. She was born in Greenville, Ky., and had lived in Independence since 1955. She was a clerk and tax examiner for the Internal Revenue Service about three years before retiring in 1981. She was a member of the Maywood Baptist Church, Independence. She was a member of the Fellowship for Christian Women and was a volunteer at the Voluntary Action Center. She leaves her husband, Russell Timmons, Jr., of the home; a son, Russell Wayne Timmons of Independence; a daughter, Mrs. Catherine Friesz of Independence; her mother, Mrs. Margaret Dukes of Bremen, Ky.; a brother, Johnny Dukes of White Plains, Ky.; four sisters, Mrs. Ruby Collins of Boonville, Ind., Mrs. Margaret Nelson of Central City, Ky., Mrs. Shirley Kinney of White Plains and Mrs. Daisy Bowen of Bremen; and three grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Carson Independence Chapel. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Wheeling Cemetery, Wheeling, Mo." The Kansas City Times, July 26, 1984
