Mrs. Bertha Sly Abbott, 81, a resident of Amenia, died there February 6th. Wife of the late Henry Abbott, Mrs. Abbott had made her home in Amenia for the last 35 years. She was born Sept. 29, 1882, in Boatenville, Vt. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Thust, Pine Plains; four sons, Wayne, Amenia; Russell, Phoenixville, Pa., Frank, Windsor, Vt., and Milton, North Montpelier, Vt.; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, Pine Plains, with the Rev. John Godocik, pastor of the Amenia Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment was in Smithfield Cemetery, Town of Amenia.
