Shirley J. Boor, age 87,of Gilberts passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin. Shirley was born in Kewanee, Illinois on August 1, 1933 and was the daughter of the late Joseph & Bernice Flannery. Shirley was a longtime resident of the Gilberts and a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Dundee Township. On December 13, 1952 she married her husband John M. Boor. John preceded Shirley in death on April 13, 1999 after 46 years of marriage.
Survivors include her children; John M. ( Kathy ) Boor, Jo ( Scott) Hokanson and Julie Ann Joswick. Her grandchildren; Amanda( Anthony ) Kelty, Jessica Starks, Jen(Scott) Baweja, Lea Hokanson, and Matthew (Erin) Hokanson. Her great grandchildren; Xavier, Lucas, Bella, Aminah, Noah, Jobe, Wyatt, and Jax. Other survivors include many nieces and nephews and several friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her brothers; Harold, Joseph and William and her sister; Judy.
Private Family Graveside Services will be held at River Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, West Dundee on Tuesday. There will be no visitation. Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee is assisting the family with all arrangements.
