Jeanette Wheat Buras passed away on November 24, 2015.

She was born on March 4, 1939 and grew up in Crossroads, MS.

Having 9 siblings, the Wheat kids were raised working around the farm and learning the law of the land.

She graduated from Poplarville High School and later moved to New Orleans. There she met and married Stuart J. Farber and made their home in Terrytown and together they opened Farlee Drug Center.

Later in life she married Harry Lee Buras. Together they loved to travel and cook. Jeanette loved her family infinitely and leaves us with fond memories of wonderful homemade meals, Mardi Gras fun and to pull for the Saints no matter what!

Survivors include her children, Donnie "Quinn" Norris, Steven J. Farber (Kathy) and Claire Janet Farber; grandchildren, Aurelia Norris, Watson Farber, Carson Kate Farber and Addison Claire Cuccia; great-grandchildren, Doyce Ray Phipps IV, Mason Norris, and Dylan Norris; her brother Houston Wheat along with many loved nieces and nephews who all knew her as "Aunt Nette".

She is preceded in death by her spouses, Stuart J. Farber and Harry Lee Buras; parents, Mary Jane Corkern Wheat and Ward Wheat and the Wheat siblings, Cecil, "Bugg", Bennie, Gene, Darryl, Hazel, Essie, Maryanne and Geraldine.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Friday, November 27, 2015 from 10 AM to 1 PM. Services will follow in the funeral home chapel.
