Eugene H. Ahlers of Antigo died Sun., Aug. 15 at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation at the age of 93. He was born in Antigo on July 30, 1917, son of the late Herman and Mary (Schumitsch) Ahlers. He married Virginia Tatro on June 30, 1939, and she preceded him in death in 1997.A graduate of Antigo High School, Mr. Ahlers served in the Army Air Corps. He also worked in a CCC camp, then moved to Oak Creek where he was employed as a concrete worker for many years.He was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Antigo.Survivors include a sister-in-law Audrey Ahlers of Antigo, and many nieces and nephews and their families.He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; both parents; 2 sisters, Gertrude and Audrey; 4 brothers, Ray, Bob, John, and his twin, Joe.
