Cloyce King, son of the late Walter Harold King and Alaska Stephens King was born on Nov. 21, 1923 in Campbell, Mo., and died on June 16, 2011 at the South-east Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo., at the age of 87.

Mr. King was a member of the Bethany General Baptist Church in Campbell, Mo.,, retired from Arvin in Dexter, self-employed farmer, and a resident of Bernie.

On Nov. 19, 1950 he was united in marriage to Mary Alice Prater in Piggott, Ark.

Mrs. King survives of the home in Bernie.

Besides his wife, other survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Danny King and Becky of Dexter, Ricky King and Leah of Dexter, and Steve King and Julie of Perryville, Mo.; one brother, James King of Malden, Mo.; one sister Ruth Acord of San Diego, Calif.; four grandchildren, Jeffrey King, Michael King, Natalie King, and Emily King.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bertis King and Jesse Harold King; and by three sisters, Ruby Heskett, Lucille Loafman, and Rosemary Sellars.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie from 5:30-8 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2011.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie with Rev. Bryon Johnson officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bethany Cemetery near Campbell, Mo., with full military honors.
