Lendall "Dean" Wall, 92, of Richmond, died Monday, May 10, 2021, at North Care Hospice House in North Kansas City.

Dean was born on September 26, 1928, in Hardin, the son of Hardee and Mildred (Thomson) Wall. He was united in marriage to Iris Jean Marshall of Hardin on August 16, 1947; she preceded him in death on June 12, 2011. He was then united in marriage to Ileen Downing of Richmond on August 20, 2018; she survives of the home.

Additional survivors include: two sons, Richard Dean (Carla) Wall of Lake Lotowana and Derrick Lee Wall of Richmond; daughter, Pamela (Don) Tripp of Maryville; five grandchildren: Samantha Wall, Valerie (Brent) Thomas, Jeremy Wall, Amber (Mike) Butt, and Brian Tripp; five great grandchildren, Caden Butt, Jordan Butt, Tyler Tripp, and Tucker Tripp; brother, Hardee Keith (Rosie) Wall of Lincoln; and one sister, Linda Kay (Joe Ray) DeMint of Hardin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, and two sisters, Helen Louise Oliver and Marilyn Joyce Brown.

Dean was reared and educated in Hardin he graduated from Central High School in Hardin. After high school he attended the University of Missouri in Columbia for two years. Then he went on to teacher school in Warrensburg where he graduated with a bachelor's degree. After college he was a fifth-grade teacher for thirty years first in Raytown then in Richmond. Dean was also a farmer. His memberships included being a member of the New Hope United Methodist Church where he served on the cemetery board and as sexton. He was a member of the Missouri Teachers Association, the Ray County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and served as vice chairman of the Missouri Farm and Home Mutual Insurance. Dean hobbies and interest include gardening, reading and sports. In his younger years he enjoyed underhand softball and was the pitcher.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to New Hope United Methodist Church. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main Street-P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.

Visitation with funeral services will be held on Friday, May 14th, 2021 at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m., with services to follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery, north of Hardin.
