Temple, Texas -- Marvin A. Baird, Sr., 82, of Temple, passed away Friday, November 2, 2007, at a Temple hospital.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2007, at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, Abilene, Texas, with Reverend Larry Baird officiating. Burial will be at Midway Cemetery in Hodges, Texas. The family will receive friends at a visitation 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2007, at the funeral home.

Marvin was born on May 31, 1925 in Anson, Texas to Jesse and Birtie {Craft} Baird. He married Fern Ewing on June 27, 1975 in Houston. Marvin joined the United States Air Force and retired after twenty-two years of service to his country. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 559 and the LDS Church.

Survivors are his wife, Fern Baird of Temple; one son, Danny Baird and wife, Lynn, of Marianna, Arkansas; three daughters, Edna Sue Koch and husband, Karl, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Connie Humphreys and husband, Charles, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Janice Rice and husband, Larry, of Gassville, Arkansas;one stepdaughter,Marilyn Lackey and husband, Jimmy, of Livingston, Texas, one sister, Inez Davis of Abilene; twenty-one grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
