Arthur Elwood Baugh (1860-1918) was the Orland High School principal in 1915-16. He was born in Hendricks County, Indiana. On 20 July 1893, he married Hattie Annetta Church (1871-1949) in Santa Clara County, CA. In 1900, Baugh was a teacher in Gold Hill, Storey County, Nevada and then came to Orland and was the first Principal at the brand new high school building on Shasta Street. Arthur and Hattie were the parents of six children. Hattie Baugh lived in Campbell in the 1920s and 1930s after the passing of her husband.
