Nancy Jane Cook, founding member and Director of TruHope, passed away peacefully at Memorial Hermann Hospital in The Woodlands, TX on May 6, 2021 at the age of 63. Nancy was born to Donald and Martha (Prewett) Abercrombie in Beloit, KS on June 1, 1957. She graduated from Beloit High School in 1975 and performed a variety of professions including motherhood before deciding to continue her formal education. Graduating from Sterling College and Fort Hays State University with a Bachelors and Masters Degree in English, she served as a college English professor and administrator for over twenty years. Most of her work was focused on supporting those that needed it most by teaching basic English courses or by developing teaching programs that could be used to aid her fellow teachers and students. Having experienced the baptism of the Holy Spirit, in 2013 Nancy rededicated her life to serving God through the inner healing and deliverance ministry by becoming a founding member of Christ Restoration Ministries which later became TruHope. Through this service she touched countless lives and her greatest delight was to see Jesus break every chain and bring light, healing, wholeness and freedom to all those desiring a closer, more intimate relationship with God. Nancy is survived by her son Jason Jermark, wife Kristie and grandson Wyatt of Oviedo, FL; brother Donald Abercrombie and wife Pat of Barnard, KS, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents and loving cat Rico. A visitation will be held Monday, May 10, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Metcalf Funeral Directors, 1801 E White Oak Terrace, Conroe, TX with a celebration of life Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Metcalf Funeral Directors. A graveside service will be held at her final resting place at Saltville Cemetery in Beloit, KS on Friday, May 14, 2021.
