Elizaida is survived by her children, Telesfor Lovato, Mary Ellen Estrada and her husband, Antonio Estrada, Dolores Lovato, Alberta Candelaria and her husband, Michael Candelaria, Marvin Lovato and his wife, Lorella Lovato, Gabriel Lovato and his wife, Yolanda Lovato and Clifford Lovato and his wife, Valerie Lovato, sister, Estella Brunker and her husband, Frank Brunker, 18 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Elizaida was preceded in death by her husband, Anselmo Lovato, sister, Fedlina Apodaca and her husband, Ramón Apodaca and brother, Elizardo Martínez.
Elizaida was born on April 19, 1929 in Cabezon, New Mexico to Telesfor Martínez and Venturita Ramírez.
Her family grew when she married Anselmo Lovato. Over the years, they would welcome seven children into their home and Elizaida and Anselmo taught them to love and care for one another. Her children remember her as a kind, gentle and loving mother who encouraged them to pursue their dreams.
Elizaida worked as the head cook in Bernalillo Public Schools for most of her career. Elizaida was a generous individual who loved playing card games like rummy and solitaire. Elizaida loved to sew, embroider, crochet, knit, canning, gardening and spending time with her family.
A rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. with a mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo. NM. Interment to follow at Bernalillo Cemetery in Bernalillo, NM.
