Ralph L. Young Sr., 79, of Coshocton passed away at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus on Saturday May 1, 2021.

Ralph was born in Coshocton on August 25, 1941 to the late Roy Young and Sophia (Amore) Donley. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Lifetime Member of the VFW 1330. A proud and decorated Vietnam Veteran and supporter of Military organizations. Ralph retired from Kraft Foods in Coshocton after many years. In retirement he and his wife started and owned The Bookcase Coffee House in Coshocton. He loved golfing, talking on the phone to his sons, watching the news especially CNN and MSNBC as an avid lover of history and current events, collecting coins, discussing movies with his daughter, designing Magical art projects with his grandchild Manhattan and doing carpentry work with his nephew.

On June 4, 1973, he married Elizabeth (McIntyre) Young who survives; also surviving are sister Tammy Young; children Ralph (Kelly) Young Jr. of West Lafayette, James Young of Oak Harbor, WA, Michael Young of Coshocton, Brian Young of Scottsdale AZ, Brad (Paula) Young of Coshocton and Frances (Troy) Burch of Dexter City; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son Bruce Jon Young; one grandson David Rusnak; siblings Sue Swails, Larry, Jack, Shawn and Randy Young.
