For over sixty years death did not enter this family, then two years ago he called for the mother past 80 and last October for the youngest sone aged forty. The aged father over 80, two brothers, James T. and Churchill, Bainbridge; 2 sisters Mollie Ellis of Bainbridge and Lille Batman of Louisville, KY, survive him.

He was married to Maggie C. Lovett, Dec 5, 1877 at Indianapolis by Rev. D.O. Donnehue.

After his marriage he lived at various places in Putnam County until the year of 1892 when he moved his family to Greencastle.

To this union were born ten children, the oldest of which died in infancy.

All the rest are living and present today. They are Lawrence of Rushville who has one son, Minnie Phares, of Tipton, who also has who also has one son, Madonna Stoner of Greencastle, Paul of Clinton Falls and Archie, Clifford, Katheryn, Dorothea and Robert all of whom live at home.

He served seven and one-half years as trustee of Marion Township after which he engaged in the grocery business at Greencastle to which he has been very successful.

He was loved by all his honestly, integrity of character and love, an sympathy, not only for his own family, but for his fellowman as well.

And now this upright character will not only be remembered by his fellowmen, but will be refelcted in the character of his noble family who are without exception boys and girls to be proud of.

Ever in his married life he has had the hearty co-operation of his loving wife, whohas[sic] ever proven herself equal to any emergency.
