Hans Kruse was born the 30th of May, 1857, in Nordenstabin, FreidrichaStadt, Germany, baptized the 20th of June 1857, confirmed the 3rd of June 1874, at Taylor, Harrison county, Iowa. At the age of 13 years he came to America, Boone county, Iowa. Three years later he went to Harrison county and at the age of 18 he went to Wyoming where he remained one year after which he returned to Boone county, Iowa. In 1888 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Kruse, to which union four children were born, two sons and two daughters. Mrs. Kruse preceded her husband in death about 14 years ago. Mr. Kruse had been a sufferer for some time and last Thursday became quite ill and died with pneumonia Saturday, December 14th at 11:30 p.m. Mr. Kruse was a successful farmer, a good citizen and a member of the Lutheran church northwest of Ogden. Funeral services were held at the Lutheran church, conducted by Rev. C.H. Schlenachboy, a pastor of the Evangelical Association. Grand Junction, Iowa. Mr. Kruse leaves to mourn his death two sons, two daughters, three step children, a brother and sister who reside at Ogden, Iowa, and many relatives and friends.
