Cothen, All of her legal papers, high school diploma, marriage license, nurses papers all are spelled Cothen. John Elijah Cothen is my grandfather and his marriage license is to his first wife has his name Cothen, His hand written signature on my mother's marriage license is Cothen. Some of my mother's younger siblings have birth certificates with the last name Cothern. On David Crocket Cothen's headstone the spelling is Cothen. I have David C. Cothen's personal Bible and his name is handwritten as David Crocket Cothen. The spelling with the extra "r" leads to misinformation on other family members. Once something is entered incorrectly it is very hard to correct the error. Please double check all your information for I fear that some of the information is not correct.
