Marion – Jesse A. "Tut", 79 died at 8:45 am Friday, November 19, 1999 at the VA Medical Center Nursing Home, Marion. Funeral Home is Mitchell-Hughes and burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery with military rites. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Methodist Church, a Mason, member of VFW, had served in the South Pacific in World War II and was a retired coal miner.
He was born in Franklin County on July 28, 1920 to Albert Francis and Orba Leona Holland Evans. He married Betty Jean Stone on December 24, 1941 in St. Charles MO and she survives. Other survivors include son Jesse D. Evans. His parents, an infant daughter, Brenda Sue Evans, brother, Royal "Tug" Evans, brother, Addison Evans, sister, Marie Drury and a sister, Eva Jeter preceded him in death.
