John Turner 'J. T.' Allen, 80, of Greenville, formerly of Indianola, died April 6 at Baptist Hospital in Jackson. He was the retired founder of Allen Mercantile Co. in Indianola. Mr. Allen was a Shriner and a member of the Masonic Lodge and member of Christ Wesleyan Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Barrett of Merritt Island, Fla.; Mrs. Linda Saucier of Starkville; a son, J.D. Allen of Indianola.
Services were held April 8 at 10 a.m. at Christ Wesleyan Church, Greenville, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Mortimer-National Funeral Home was in charge.
