William Duncan
William C. Duncan, Sr., 83, of 1021 W. Spring St., Brownstown, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Jackson County Hospital in Seymour at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 12. He had been ill for about six weeks.
Mr. Duncan was born Dec. 4, 1892, in Jackson County, the son of the late Andrew J. and Margaret Kirkpatrick Duncan. He lived in Jackson County most of his life.
On Sept. 16, 1939, he married Geraldine Boyd, who survives. He was a retired drag line operator.
Besides the widow, he is survived by six children: Melvin Duncan, of Phillipsburg, Pa.; Mrs. Janet McCray, of Gary; William C. Duncan, Jr., of Greensburg; Mrs. Charles (Nancy) Brock Jr., Brownstown Rt. 1; Mrs. Warren (Alice) Fisher, of Brownstown and Willow Duncan, at home; one brother, Curtis Duncan, of Punta Gorda, Fla.; one sister, Mrs. Blanche Rosemeyer, of Tampico; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Two sons and three brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral services were conducted from the Johnson Funeral Home in Vallonia at 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Elvin Gray, of the Brownstown Christian Church, officiating. Burial was in the Vallonia Cemetery.
