Almira, the daughter of Daniel Merrill and Phoebe Shepherd, married Abel Lamb in 1826. They had 14 children, 6 living to maturity. On September 21, 1856, Abel married Elizabeth Esnuff and had two children. Eva Lillian, born in 1860, who died young, and Elizabeth, born in 1862, who married and moved to Montana. Abel and Elizabeth Esnuff's marriage ended in divorce. Almira died on January 8, 1865, and on January 27, 1865 he married Mariah Augusta Christena Sandberg. When Abel died on 14 April 1874, she married Alouise Bauer 13 July 1874. In the Salt Lake Cemetery next to Almira are the first three children of Abel and Mariah Sandberg, who died as infants. Their names are Rosina Mary , Abel Paul, and David. They had two more children, Annie Laurie and Sarah Mariah that reached maturity . Also Almira's daughter, Zeruah Lamb, and William Miller Lamb, her son, are buied close to her. The Cemetery records list her as Almira Lanile, who was married to an Abel Lanile and lists the children as infant, David, and Rosina Mary Lamb. It also lists Almira's parents as Daniel and Merril. Her parents are actually Daniel Merrill and Phoebe Shepherd. Seems to me who ever transcibed the records thought the "M" in lamb was "n" and "i", and the "b" was a "l" and "e". On May 14th, 2008 a marker was placed for the six lambs'. The descendants of Joseph Smith Lamb and Mariah Sandberg Lamb donated the necessary funds. Judie Huff, a Findagrave volunteer was instrumental on finding her and suggesting it was Almira Lamb instead of Almira Lanile.
