Mr. Curtis was born in Otto, NC to the late Charles Sutton Curtis, Sr. and Minnie Leona McCall Curtis. Jim was a Vietnam War Veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force and later worked as a Meteorologist in Greenville-Spartanburg for the National Oceanic Atmospheric Association (N.O.A.A.) National Weather Service. He loved to play golf, he was a self-taught carpenter and mechanic, he enjoyed cheering on his NC Tarheels Basketball team and most importantly, he loved worshipping and fellowship at his home church, Cross Roads Baptist. He was a supportive father who enjoyed spending time with his friends and family and will be greatly missed.
