Services for Mrs. Fannie Benson, a native of Montgomery County, were held on January 19th, at Bethlehem Church. The Rev. Nolan Kennedy, pastor of the Clinton Baptist Church, and Rev. J. A. Wade, local pastor, officiated. Six of her grandsons served as pallbearers.
Mrs. Benson, who was seventy-two, was the wife of the late William Riley Benson. She was a member of the Clinton Baptist Church. She died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. E. Donohoe, Clinton, Miss.
Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. J. S. Freshour, Bolton, Mrs. G. P. Lucius, Drew, Mrs. H. V. Phillips, Graysport, Mrs. J. E. Donohoe, Clinton, Mrs. W. H. Wiseman, Greenville, and Mrs. W. B. Simpson, Jackson, Miss.; one son, Rev. H. B. Benson, Carrollton, Ga.; seventeen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Alice Watts, Tulsa, Okla., and one brother, A. B. Powell, Adamsville, Ala.
