LAWRENCE COPELAND

Lawrence Bellows Copeland, 69, of 28 Central St. died unexpectedly Monday afternoon [May 12, 1975] at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital shortly after being stricken at his home.

He was born Sept. 14, 1905 in West Brattleboro, son of Luman P. and Carrie (Bellows) Copeland. For 26 years he was a millwright for the C. F. Church Manufacturing Co. After that he was employed by Maple Farms until his retirement in 1970.

Mr. Copeland was a member of the Brattleboro Lodge of Elks.

On July 14, 1926 he married Edith Grace Streeter in Hoosiek Falls, N.Y. Mrs. Copeland died on April 3.

Surviving are a son, Robert of Amherst, N.H.; a daughter, Mrs. Anita Farrar of Glastonbury, Conn.; a sister, Mrs. Doris Eddy of Long Branch, N.J.; five grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday [May 15, 1975] at 2 p.m. at Ker Funeral Home by the Rev. John F. Madden, minister of First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Meetinghouse Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at to funeral home Wednesday [May 14, 1975] from 7 to 9 p. m.
