Growing up in Southern Pines NC, she loved the name Dorothy so much she decided to make that her name. In earlier years, Dottie worked for the Adjutant General's office on Reedy Creek Road in Raleigh, acting as a liaison between the NC and Washington DC offices. She was married to and preceded in death by her husband, William Carlton Couch, Jr. Dottie and Carlton enjoyed traveling together and especially relished their trips to the North Carolina coast. Dottie lit up a room with her quick wit and gentle smile. She was an avid reader, loved her kitties, and had a penchant for sweets. She always looked beautifully dressed and ready for any event, including her weekly outing to get her hair done at A Flair for Hair or a trip to the library. Dottie was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Finch Dorn, and is survived by her sister, Louise Dorn Benner of Raleigh and half-sister, Ellen Dorn Garman of Troy NC.
