Charles married Marie Celeste Robichaud on 17 Oct 1808 at the Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church in Donaldsonville, Louisiana. They had at least seven children before her death in 1840. Marie Celeste was buried at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Thibodaux, Lafourche Parish, Louisiana.
Charles married a second time to Anne Apolline Gautrot, the daughter of Joseph Marin Gautrot and Marie Magdeleine Theriot, and the widow of Burl Aycock, on 4 July 1842 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Thibodaux.
Charles Romain died 23 Jun 1857 and was buried at St. Philomena's Catholic Church cemetery in Labadieville, Assumption Parish, Louisiana, the following day. His burial record gave his age as 75 years but he was just 69 years of age.
